Job Description
Position Title : Vertical Wind Tunnel (VWT) Maintenance Technician
Location : Camp Mackall, NC and Fort Bragg, NC
Clearance required : SECRET
Scope of Work: Provides inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of the Vertical Wind Tunnel (Freefall Simulator) supporting Military Free Fall operations, including quarterly chiller maintenance and all scheduled preventive maintenance intervals.

Scope of Work: Provides inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of the Vertical Wind Tunnel (Freefall Simulator) supporting Military Free Fall operations, including quarterly chiller maintenance and all scheduled preventive maintenance intervals.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Execute quarterly chiller maintenance and semi-annual, annual, biennial, and five-year preventive maintenance per O&M manuals and OEM specifications.
- Furnish labor, materials, parts, tools, and transportation for preventive maintenance inspections, adjustments, and repairs.
- Identify root causes of mechanical issues and recommend improvements for system longevity.
- Maintain a manufacturer and vendor contact list and an inventory of tools and critical spare parts, including long-lead items.
- Test equipment after repairs and provide written service reports documenting deficiencies, root cause, corrective actions, labor time, and parts.
- Minimize simulator downtime and notify the COR and facility manager of projected downtime.
- Document emergency repairs on Service Orders and submit Service Recommendations for non-routine findings.
Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Valid licenses and certifications appropriate for the specific mechanical, electrical, and HVAC tasks performed
- Technical expertise in the Vertical Wind Tunnel / Freefall Simulator system design
- Ability to perform work per OEM specifications and commercial best practices
- Microsoft Office proficiency
