This position is part of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
The Tool Room/Parts Attendant is responsible to the V2X Logistics Manager for the daily routine of issuing tools and PREX parts. The Tool Room/Parts Attendant must be capable of performing requisitioning, inventory control, storing, shelf life, and cataloging of required tools and material in the support of aircraft operations. The Tool Room Attendant must be capable of interpreting and complying with all DOD, Company directives/policies as directed by appropriate levels of supervision. T he Tool Room/Parts Attendant is responsible for the self-directed adherence to the Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies and mandated Quality Assurance, Security, Explosive Safety and all other applicable Navy/Air Force and Company Program requirements. The Tool Room/Parts Attendant must meet the following prerequisites:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal day-to-day working conditions are inside an aircraft hangar with good ventilation and airflow. Work may be required in outside weather conditions where employees will be exposed to all types of environmental conditions and extremes such as hot, cold, rain, wind, etc. While performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment including eye protection, ear protection, hand protection, respirators, masks, aprons; leather safety shoes, steel toe shoes, fall protection harness, and other equipment anytime the potential for hazards exists. The employee is occasionally exposed to highly precarious places, confined spaces, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of radiation; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The Tool Room/Parts Attendant must meet the following prerequisites:
- The Tool Room/Parts Attendant must possess superior qualities of personal integrity, maturity, judgment and aptitude that facilitate the accomplishment of assigned work functions and the cultivation of a quality work environment. Must be able to read and write the English language. Must be capable of effectively communicating both verbally and in writing.
- Must be capable of providing training in your specialty/qualification/certifications to other employees.
- Will be capable of reading and interpreting all reports, directives, publications and manuals pertaining to your assigned responsibilities.
- Be capable of performing off-site related services and detachments when directed.
- Be capable of working any shift assignment.
- Be capable of working overtime, when required.
- Be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Comply and participate with the Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Program, when directed.
- Will operate standard office equipment such as: telephones, typewriters, computer terminals and other related mechanized equipment; facsimile and duplicating equipment; calculators, etc.
- Will be knowledgeable in the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS/OOMA), Program and Aviation Logistics Material Management System (ALMMS) for all required user techniques and applications. Training will be provided for ALMMS applications.
- Must be able to operate stationary and portable bar code readers.
- Will be required to visually inspect tools and equipment for wear or defects. Prepare written damage reports and disposal/turn-in documentation.
- Must have the ability to design, develop, document and maintain requisition logs and files, stock records and files and work accomplished records, etc.
- Will be required to engrave, etch, tag or mark tools and equipment for accountability.
- Must have the ability to write item descriptions for a range of new items entering the supply channels of an agency or field operation.
- Must have the ability to use common hand tools and equipment to package, handle, and transport equipment, supplies and materials.
- Ensure all security that is applicable.
- Responsible for adhering to the Tool Control Program.
- Complies with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations, as applicable.
- Perform other duties and Collateral Duty assignments as assigned and directed by management.
Qualifications
- Must have two (2) years experience specializing in a DOD aviation/material control environment or equivalent civilian experience.
- Must be familiar with DOD procedures, regulations and directives concerning logistics support and supply systems; specifically, the tool control program as it applies to organizational and intermediate level maintenance.
- The Tool Room/Parts Attendant must have a valid state operator's license and the ability to pass government licensing requirements.
- Must posess have the ability to obain a secret security clearance.
