V2X is actively hiring for an experienced HVAC/R Technician II to join our team on-site in Indianapolis, IN.

Responsibilities

The HVAC/R Technician II will perform the following duties:

• Installs and repairs air-conditioning units.
• Fills compressor with refrigerant and starts unit.
• Measures compressor pressure to determine efficiency of compressor, using gauge.
• Listens to operating unit for indications of malfunction.
• Removes faulty units, disassembles them, and replaces worn or broken parts and fluid in unit.
• Maintains cooling tower water and associated equipment and/or maintains and calibrates production furnaces, chambers, solder pots and plating lines.
• Makes electrical connections as required.
• Diagnosis and repair of faulty chilled water systems and heat exchangers.
• Provides operation and preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
• Trains and mentors Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic I.
• May perform as a member or leader of a functional and/or cross functional team.
• Other required activities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must possess Type I and Type II Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification.
• Must have extensive knowledge and skills to repair and overhaul a variety of complex refrigeration/air conditioning systems.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal oversight by management.
• Familiarity with building management systems such as Autologic is beneficial.
• Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements.
• Occasional overtime is required.
• Ability to obtain a secret security clearance may be required.
