V2X is actively hiring for an experienced HVAC/R Technician II to join our team on-site in Indianapolis, IN.
Responsibilities
The HVAC/R Technician II will perform the following duties:
- Installs and repairs air-conditioning units.
- Fills compressor with refrigerant and starts unit.
- Measures compressor pressure to determine efficiency of compressor, using gauge.
- Listens to operating unit for indications of malfunction.
- Removes faulty units, disassembles them, and replaces worn or broken parts and fluid in unit.
- Maintains cooling tower water and associated equipment and/or maintains and calibrates production furnaces, chambers, solder pots and plating lines.
- Makes electrical connections as required.
- Diagnosis and repair of faulty chilled water systems and heat exchangers.
- Provides operation and preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
- Trains and mentors Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic I.
- May perform as a member or leader of a functional and/or cross functional team.
- Other required activities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must possess Type I and Type II Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification.
- Must have extensive knowledge and skills to repair and overhaul a variety of complex refrigeration/air conditioning systems.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal oversight by management.
- Familiarity with building management systems such as Autologic is beneficial.
- Must demonstrate competencies necessary to meet business requirements.
- Occasional overtime is required.
- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance may be required.
