Job Description
GCyber is seeking a Release Train Engineer, to help support a mission-focused federal IT modernization effort that is building and integrating secure digital capabilities in a classified environment. The program uses an Agile delivery model and a technology environment centered on ServiceNow, Elastic, AWS, Red Hat, and supporting integration technologies such as Kafka. The Release Train Engineer will enable effective Program Increment execution across the Agile Release Train, optimize flow, manage cross-team risks and dependencies, and ensure consistent delivery of customer value.

As the Release Train Engineer, you will,
- Lead Agile Release Train events and Lean-Agile practices, including PI planning, pre- and post-PI activities, system demonstrations, Inspect and Adapt, and Scrum of Scrums.
- Coordinate software, architecture, test, security, deployment, and release schedules across teams.
- Consolidate team PI objectives and maintain program-level objectives, dependencies, risks, and commitments.
- Track feature and capability execution using useful Agile and DevOps metrics and communicate progress, risks, testing, deployment status, and release readiness.
- Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, teams, and leaders in SAFe, flow, relentless improvement, and effective decision-making.
- Identify and escalate program impediments and coordinate mitigation of critical dependencies, bottlenecks, resource constraints, and integration risks.
- Partner with program management, architecture, configuration management, test, cybersecurity, and operations to align delivery and readiness.
- Understand the integrated system architecture sufficiently to identify technical risk and explain tradeoffs to customer and leadership stakeholders.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain any additional customer suitability approvals required for the position.
- DoD 8570/8140 certification (i.e., Security+, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
- Early-stage flexibility with partial telework during initial development phases
- Full-time on-site presence at secure facility in Washington, DC will be required as the program matures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, security, and customer teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
- Eight to twelve years of relevant experience
- Experience leading or supporting Agile software delivery as a Release Train Engineer, senior Scrum Master, program delivery lead, or comparable role.
- Experience facilitating large planning events, managing cross-team dependencies, briefing leaders and customers, and using Jira or comparable Agile tools.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer certification or comparable SAFe leadership credential.
- Experience with ServiceNow administration or configuration, ServiceNow ATF, ITIL, AWS, Jira, Confluence, DevSecOps, and classified federal programs.
- Experience using flow, predictability, quality, and outcome metrics to improve ART performance.
