Lead ICAM Architect

Leads Deloitte's architecture strategy and technical direction for the VA's identity, credential, and access management environment. This role aligns identity services, integrations, security controls, and modernization efforts with Zero Trust objectives and operational requirements. The Lead ICAM Architect works across stakeholders to define scalable target-state architecture, strengthen governance, and support secure access across enterprise platforms.

Work you'll do

As a Lead ICAM Architect on the ICAM team, you will be responsible for...

• Leading architecture strategy for enterprise identity, credential, and access management capabilities in support of VA mission and security objectives
• Defining target-state ICAM architecture, integration patterns, and technical standards across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
• Guiding modernization initiatives that align identity services and access controls with Zero Trust principles and federal security requirements
• Partnering with engineering, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and program stakeholders to evaluate requirements, resolve architectural issues, and support implementation decisions
• Overseeing architectural governance, technical roadmaps, and solution reviews to improve scalability, interoperability, and operational performance

Our team supports enterprise identity, credential, and access management capabilities for a complex federal environment, helping enable secure, resilient, and user-centered access to systems and data. We work across architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, and program stakeholders to modernize identity services, strengthen security controls, and advance Zero Trust objectives. This team focuses on scalable solutions, integration across platforms, and operational effectiveness in support of mission needs.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of experience in identity and access management, cybersecurity architecture, or enterprise architecture
• 5+ years of experience designing or leading identity and access management solutions in complex enterprise environments
• Experience with identity federation, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, privileged access management, and directory services
• Experience developing architecture artifacts, technical roadmaps, and system integration designs
• Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

• Experience supporting federal government or public sector identity and access management programs
• Experience aligning architecture decisions to Zero Trust frameworks or federal cybersecurity guidance
• Experience with cloud identity platforms and hybrid identity integrations
• Experience leading architecture reviews, technical governance forums, or design authorities
• Experience with Identity Governance and Administration and Privileged Access Management implementations
• Advanced degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a technical field

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Virginia, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Virginia and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $135,500 to $229,100.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
