Job Description
New Era Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Precision Fires program in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will apply critical thinking and systems engineering expertise across the full software development lifecycle within an Agile development environment.
The critical activity your efforts will support will be the development, management, and integration of system requirements and technical documentation to support mission-critical Precision Fires capabilities.
You will execute end-to-end systems engineering activities and apply systems engineering principles to resolve complex system and system-of-systems engineering challenges.
You will develop, analyze, and manage new and existing system requirements throughout the full software development lifecycle.
You will utilize IBM DOORS 9.7.x to independently manage requirement data, including creating objects within modules, establishing traceability links, and generating Requirement Verification Matrices (RVMs).
You will work within an Agile development environment, participate in regular Scrum meetings, and utilize Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) to support requirements tracking and development activities.
You will collaborate with cross-functional organizations to integrate and align system requirements across Software Safety, Test, Cybersecurity, and other engineering disciplines.
You will analyze complex requirements and assess their cascading impacts on software testing, system safety, cybersecurity, and overall system performance.
You will author, review, and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, and other engineering artifacts throughout the program lifecycle.
You will support systems engineering activities across the complete software development lifecycle and contribute to the successful integration and delivery of Precision Fires capabilities.
You will apply knowledge of the Army Acquisition Life Cycle to support requirements development, technical reviews, engineering activities, and program execution.
### Required
Bachelor’s degree with 9 years or more of related experience; an additional 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree per contract vehicle
Active Interim Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
US citizenship
Strong systems engineering background supporting the complete software development lifecycle
Hands-on experience with IBM DOORS 9.7.x for requirements and requirement data management
Experience developing, analyzing, and managing system requirements
Experience establishing requirements traceability and developing Requirement Verification Matrices (RVMs)
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO)
Ability to analyze complex requirements and understand their impacts across software testing, system safety, and cybersecurity
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
