Job Description
New Era Technologies is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer who will design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for military systems across the full software development life cycle.
The critical activity your efforts will support will be the development and delivery of high-quality software for both new and legacy embedded military systems.
You will support software development activities including requirements analysis, software design, coding, integration, testing, documentation, and ongoing system support.
You will develop software using C/C++ and other object-oriented programming languages in support of embedded military applications.
You will participate in software team meetings, hardware and software design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and other engineering activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
You will work closely with Cyber, Safety, Operations, and Test organizations to develop and deliver reliable software that meets system and mission requirements.
You will work directly with customers and engineering stakeholders to receive timely feedback, refine software implementations, and deliver solutions that address immediate operational needs.
You will work as part of a collaborative Agile development team with well-defined goals and participate in Scrum development activities.
You will support continuous integration and software automation efforts to improve development, integration, and testing processes.
You will apply object-oriented programming and design principles, including the development and execution of unit tests.
You will utilize software development and configuration management tools including Microsoft Azure DevOps, Git, SVN, Linux, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify and resolve software issues and support the integration of software with hardware and other system components.
Required
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience; additional 6 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree per contract vehicle
Active Secret security clearance
US citizenship
Strong experience with C/C++ and other object-oriented programming languages
Experience with Agile software development, specifically Scrum
Experience with continuous integration and software automation
Experience with object-oriented programming and design, including writing unit tests
Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps
Experience with Git and/or SVN
Experience with Linux
Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
