Job Description
Position Title : Weapons Maintenance Technician
Location : Fort Bragg, NC.
Clearance required : SECRET
Scope of Work: Provides field and sustainment-level maintenance on over 15,000 U.S., foreign, and non-standard weapons at the Joint Armament Facility (JAF) at Fort Bragg, including inspections, repairs, and safety certifications for standard and non-standard weapons.

Scope of Work: Provides field and sustainment-level maintenance on over 15,000 U.S., foreign, and non-standard weapons at the Joint Armament Facility (JAF) at Fort Bragg, including inspections, repairs, and safety certifications for standard and non-standard weapons.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair U.S., foreign, non-standard, and legacy weapons at field and sustainment levels.
- Perform inspections and repairs; replace bolts, stocks, barrels, pistol grips, bolt and barrel assemblies, recoil buffers, upper receivers, feed trays, and drive rod assemblies; repair and replace tripods, bipods, and mounts.
- Interpret technical data and current Technical Manuals to repair weapons to a mission-capable standard.
- Comply with all local, USSOCOM, and DoW accountability and physical security requirements for weapons and ammunition.
- Examine and inventory received items and report discrepancies and damage.
- Operate the Maintenance Module in GCSS-Army and maintain man-hour accounting, including PA61 work schedules and weekly labor reporting.
- Review and provide recommendations for safety issues and Quality Deficiency Reports.
Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Familiarity with weapons and ammunition accountability and physical security requirements
- General knowledge of the Maintenance Module in GCSS-Army
- Ability to lift assemblies, subassemblies, and weapons up to 50 pounds, with walking, bending, and prolonged standing
- Enrollment in a Hearing Conservation Program
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; valid state driver's license; IAT Level I certification if requiring information system access
