Job Description

Position Title : Fleet/Generator Maintenance Technician

Location : Fort Bragg, NC.

Clearance required : SECRET

Scope of Work: Provides field-level maintenance on over 360 pieces of tactical and non-tactical wheeled vehicles, trailers, material handling equipment, generators (3KW to 60KW), and HVAC/ECU systems supporting B Company, Support Battalion, 1st SWTG (A) at Fort Bragg.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Perform PMCS and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wheeled vehicles, material handling equipment, and power generation equipment per Technical Manuals and OEM manuals within authorized Maintenance Allocation Chart levels.
  • Inspect, service, repair, replace, adjust, and test power plants, engines, fuel, air, exhaust, and cooling systems, chassis, powertrain, brake, steering, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot automotive electrical systems including wiring harnesses and starting and charging systems using digital multimeters and diagnostic software.
  • Complete DA Form 5988-E, DA Form 5990-E, and man-hour accounting worksheets accurately.
  • Utilize the Maintenance Support Device for troubleshooting, parts identification, and requisitioning National Stock Numbers.
  • Create and maintain PA61 work schedules in GCSS-Army and provide weekly labor-hour reports.
  • Assist with QA/QC inspections, road tests, recovery operations, and equipment turn-in.


Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Technical proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, component replacement, body repair, and power generation maintenance
  • EPA Section 608 and 609 certifications for personnel performing cooling or HVAC refrigerant work
  • Proficiency with mechanical and digital torque wrenches and diagnostic equipment
  • Licensed to operate all supported equipment per AR 600-55, valid state driver's license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • General knowledge of the Maintenance Module in GCSS-Army; Microsoft Office proficiency
