LMR Technician

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a LMR Technician to support a federal government communications modernization and sustainment program based in Washington, DC. This role provides the opportunity to support a mission-critical communications environment responsible for maintaining 24/7 operational readiness for a large-scale federal radio network. The position offers hands-on experience with Motorola LMR and P25 technologies while supporting operations, programming, troubleshooting, and deployment activities.

Responsibilities of the LMR Technician Include:

• Manage and maintain Motorola APX NEXT portable radios and APX6500/APX8500 mobile radio subscribers to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Program, provision, and update subscriber radios using Motorola tools including RadioCentral, CommandCentral Mapping, CommandCentral Messaging, SmartConnect, and ASTRO Core Provisioning Manager
• Troubleshoot subscriber radio issues, perform preventative maintenance, and resolve hardware-related concerns when possible
• Work directly with end users to support radio functionality, develop custom code plugs, and implement programming changes
• Support ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M), subscriber deployments, and sustainment efforts within a 24/7 mission-critical communications environment

Qualifications of the LMR Technician Include:

• 3+ years of experience programming Motorola Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems
• Experience supporting, programming, troubleshooting, or deploying P25 equipment including subscriber radios, base stations, repeaters, duplexers, and consoles
• Experience with Motorola APX NEXT, APX6500/APX8500, ASTRO Core Provisioning Manager, RadioCentral, CommandCentral, or similar
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Service Public Trust

Compensation of the LMR Technician Include:

• Salary Range: $65,000 - 95,000 (based on experience)
