Senior Audio-Visual Systems Engineer
Quantum Sky is seeking a Senior Audio-Visual Systems Engineer to support the Space Systems Command (SSC) Combat Power Directorate (SYD89) S6 Communications shop at LA Space Force Base in El Segundo, CA. Space Systems Command is responsible for developing, acquiring, equipping, fielding, and sustaining lethal and resilient space capabilities for the United States Space Force to ensure superior combat power in, from, and to space.

Quantum Sky is seeking a Senior Audio-Visual Systems Engineer to support the Space Systems Command (SSC) Combat Power Directorate (SYD89) S6 Communications shop at LA Space Force Base in El Segundo, CA. Space Systems Command is responsible for developing, acquiring, equipping, fielding, and sustaining lethal and resilient space capabilities for the United States Space Force to ensure superior combat power in, from, and to space.
Responsibilities
- Lead System Design: Design, integrate, and engineer advanced Audio-Visual (AV) and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) architectures across multiple security enclaves.
- AF7 Network Management: Engineer and maintain secure Special Access Program (SAP) VTC capabilities utilizing the Air Force Special Enclave Video Enterprise Network (AF7) to support compartmentalized network operations.
- Oversee Equipment Installation: Direct the installation, configuration, testing, and lifecycle maintenance of complex communications equipment, command center displays, and secure conference room configurations within SCIF environments.
- Support Joint Space Operations: Optimize AF7 and secure communication pipelines to ensure flawless operational connectivity for critical stakeholders including USSPACECOM, JTF-SD, and the NSDC.
- Manage Enterprise Upgrades: Modernize existing S6 communications infrastructure to maximize system uptime and guarantee secure, high-definition collaboration capabilities for Space Force leadership.
- Technical Project Oversight: Provide subject matter expertise during technical review boards, author engineering change proposals (ECPs), and ensure compliance with space systems enterprise architecture standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with network engineers and cybersecurity teams to ensure AV/VTC hardware meets strict Department of Defense (DoD) network configuration, encryption, and multi-level security routing guidelines.
Qualifications
Required
- Education & Experience Matrix: Meet one of the following baseline criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field plus 15 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Master’s Degree in a relevant technical field plus 7.5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- PhD in a relevant technical field plus 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience engineering multi-enclave VTC systems and integrating secure communications equipment within DoD environments.
- Lead System Design: Design, integrate, and engineer advanced Audio-Visual (AV) and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) architectures across multiple security enclaves.
- Technical Project Oversight: Provide subject matter expertise during technical review boards, author engineering change proposals (ECPs), and ensure compliance with space systems enterprise architecture standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with network engineers and cybersecurity teams to ensure AV/VTC hardware meets strict Department of Defense (DoD) network configuration and routing guidelines.

Desired:
- Military Space Context: Previous experience supporting Space Systems Command (SSC) or other US Space Force/US Space Command directorates.
- Industry Certifications: Certified Technology Specialist - Design or Installation (CTS-D / CTS-I) or Crestron/Extron engineering certifications.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Current DoD 8577.01 / 8140 baseline certification (such as Security+ CE or CISSP).
