Position Title: Security Assistant at Eastern Currency Facility (ECF), Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP)
Location: Washington D.C.
Security Clearance Level: T4 - High Public Trust
Duties and Responsibilities
The Security Assistant will interact with customers, issue PIV cards (and visitor badges), process visitors, add and remove access, run reports, and assist with clerical efforts in the badge room and processing center. The position's duties and responsibilities include:
- Badge Room Tasks:
- Processing Access Request Forms
- Processing HSPD-12 (Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12) Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Badge forms
- Perform as HSPD-12 Registrar to include
- Manage the schedule for enrollment workstations in case of scheduling conflicts
- Verify the sponsorship information with the Applicant
- Verify and scan Applicant's two identity source (I-9) documents
- Capture the Applicant's facial image in the system via a digital photograph
- Capture ten rolled fingerprints into the system
- Flag any issues during enrollment
- Print PIV Cards once approval from Sponsor/COR is received.
- Perform as an HSPD-12 Issuer/Activator
- Receiving or printing credentials and secure storage
- Issue the credential to the individual after verifying their ID
- Retrieving credentials if activation fails and note the reason for the failed activation.
- Provide activation assistant to applicants, as necessary.
- Perform Attended activations for applicants without fingerprints or whop encounter unattended activation issues.
- Destroy PIV cards when expired and the new credential is activated.

- Issuing Badges/ID
- Updating and Maintaining Records, Database, Logs
- Badge Accountability
- Administrative Support
- Generating Reports on badge usage, parking permits, PIV, security/suitability clearances and other such reports
- Performing general duties such as typing forms and documents, completing any other written communications and reports, signing for mail, picking up and distributing mail, filing documents and reports, scheduling appointments, and answering phones
- Successfully complete Government-provided training (classroom, online, and hand-on) and perform the tasks as taught for:
- Identiv Velocity Software
- GSA's USAccess PIV Card Program
- Easy Lobby Visitor Management System
- Badge Room Procedures
- Visitor Processing Center Procedures
- Other related training, e.g. IT Security Awareness, Operations Security, Safety and Environmental Health, Security Procedures
- Obey, abide by and comply with all federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations, as applicable to the work performed and the location of the work.
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the administrative or security field and a strong computer user aptitude is required
- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Demonstrated history of not being a potential threat to the health, safety, security, general well-being, or operational mission of the facility.
- Present a neat and clean appearance and have a history of superior personal and professional conduct
- Intermediate level computer skills that possess experience to work with multiple worksheets, filter data and use integration functions
- Have an aptitude to learn GSA's USAccess Program, Identiv's Velocity Program, EasyLobby Visitor Management system and other similar programs to support operations as these programs are detail oriented
- Possess a valid U.S. driver's license
- Knowledge and 5 years of experience providing quality customer service to Government employees, military personnel, contractors, and/or visitors.
- May not be an employee of the U.S. Government at the time of employment with gTANGIBLE
- U.S. Military Veteran preferred
