About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and motivated Network Engineers to support mission-critical initiatives within the defense and national security sector. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing secure enterprise network environments that enable critical government and defense operations.
As a Network Engineer, you will work with modern networking technologies to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions supporting complex operational requirements.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure supporting defense-related programs and operations.
- Manage and support LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and SD-WAN environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance and proactively improve reliability, availability, and security.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, systems, and engineering teams on strategic infrastructure initiatives.
- Support network modernization, migration, and technology refresh projects.
- Investigate and resolve complex network incidents and outages.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Participate in change management and operational support activities.
What We're Looking For
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network security concepts.
- Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of secure networking practices and defense-industry cybersecurity requirements.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
- Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), federal government, aerospace, defense contractor, or other highly regulated environments.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture, SD-WAN, and cloud networking.
- Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, Security+, Network+, or equivalent.
