On-site in either Norfolk, VA or San Diego, CA or Honolulu, HI

Our client seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to support the NMCI Service Management Integration and Transport program. The role focuses on reliability, performance, and scalability of distributed systems within Windows Platform Services. The team maintains, supports, and secures Windows Server operating systems across a large enterprise and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support mission-critical systems and services. The schedule is afternoon or evening shift, Tuesday through Saturday, and is 100% on-site.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $55.00 to $65.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Perform Windows Server patching, IAVA vulnerability remediation, and security compliance activities across supported environments.
  • Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 systems.
  • Support the full IT infrastructure lifecycle, including planning, installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Ensure Windows Server platforms remain compliant with operational policies, security requirements, and industry standards.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operating system, infrastructure, patching, and application-related issues.
  • Perform STIG remediation and support ongoing cybersecurity compliance activities.
  • Support critical enterprise applications, infrastructure, and services with internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Participate in projects and operational initiatives of moderate complexity, providing technical analysis, recommendations, and implementation support.
  • Exercise independent judgment within established processes to identify technical solutions and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate unique technical situations and provide recommendations to improve system reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

Experience Requirements:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Current Security+ certification.
  • Ability to work an afternoon or night shift, Tuesday through Saturday, on-site.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Typically 2-5 years of relevant IT experience.
  • Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.
  • Windows Server patching and IAVA vulnerability mitigation.
  • Windows Server builds for 2016, 2019, and 2022.
  • STIG remediation and compliance.
  • Experience supporting Windows platforms in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Education Requirements:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or higher.
