Test Engineer/Analyst - STARS
Location: Huntsville, AL
Description:
Seeking a motivated Mid-Level Test Engineer/Analyst to join a well-established team in an AVMC lab that supports the development, test, and fielding of a tactical missile defense system. The selected candidate will work with real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) systems, tactical software & hardware, and digital representations of complex missile defense systems.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
• Common tasks for this position include analysis tool design and development, and complex analysis on missile defense system and/or algorithm performance.
• The selected candidate will develop and maintain test cases to support software integration and system integration.
• The selected candidate may support a broad range of projects including performance analysis, modeling & simulation (M&S), post-flight reconstruction, and integration and risk reduction efforts.
• Apply practical engineering knowledge across a broad range of established system engineering principles, concepts, and methods
• Analyze and document results of test cases in software and hardware test report documentation.
• Develop system requirements to support system functionality
Required Skills:
• Direct operational or test experience with Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) is required.
• Proficient in data manipulation and analysis, data visualization, signal and data processing, electromagnetics, and/or system engineering using MATLAB or similar tools.
• Must have the ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
• Ability to develop and/or contribute to reports and briefings that explain complex system behaviors effectively to a broad range of audiences.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively across multiple efforts.
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must have an active secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience developing and/or improving complex analysis tools using MATLAB.
• Experience in real-time analysis using Linux/Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD).
• Experience in C, C++, Linux/Unix operating systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
