Boston Government Services, LLC. (BGS) is seeking a Home Energy Score (HES) Program Monitor to support our clients in Washington, DC and or Golden, CO.

Supports the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Innovation, Affordability, and Consumer Choice (IACC) in the operational management and technical support of the Home Energy Score™ program, part of the Better Buildings initiative. This role involves comprehensive program logistics, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement activities for a standardized method of assessing home energy efficiency. The position will focus on sustaining and enhancing the program's operations and its network of assessors.
Responsibilities:
• Serving as a primary point of contact and operational lead for Home Energy Score™ Assessors and candidates, overseeing their training, qualification, and ongoing participation.
• Updating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the online 3D simulation (Sim) interactive training and testing website critical for assessor qualification.
• Compiling, analyzing, and publishing data from the Scoring Tool and program database on a regular basis, including assessing raw data for accuracy and correcting erroneous inputs.
• Authoring and updating guidance documents and protocols for both the Scoring Tool and the Sim training/qualification tests.
• Responding to inquiries regarding the Scoring Tool and the Home Energy Score™ program from various stakeholders.
• Assisting in the coordination of updates and improvements to the Scoring Tool, data transfer and storage, candidate 'boot camps', and Assessor certification processes with subcontracted entities.
• Providing technical advice and recommendations for enhancements to the Scoring Tool and the overall program operations.
• Providing support, assistance, and feedback to team members within the program.
This role requires exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple operational tasks and ongoing projects within a dynamic environment.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., energy management, building science, project management, or related discipline).
• 5+ years of direct experience in energy efficiency program operations, specifically with the Home Energy Score™ program, or similar building energy performance assessment initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience as an operations lead or task leader for a significant energy efficiency program.
• Professional demeanor with strong initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in data quality assurance and protocol adherence.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written – for engaging with assessors, program stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Successful drug screening.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Deep subject matter expertise in the Home Energy Score™ methodology, Scoring Tool, and Assessor qualification processes.
• Experience and/or certification in Building Science for residential and multifamily buildings.
• Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot online training and qualification platforms.
• Extensive experience in data analysis, reporting, and quality control within an energy program context.
• Experience in authoring technical guidance and program protocols.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small, focused team.
• Strong analytical skills for identifying program improvements and technical solutions.
Location/Work Arrangement:
• Schedule is full-time, Monday – Friday 40-hour week.
• This position is Remote Work Arrangement.
• Golden CO Preferred.
