Apex Systems is currently hiring for a C-17 Modification Mechanic (Structures & Electrical/Avionics) with a leading aerospace and defense client supporting military aircraft modernization initiatives. This opportunity supports the expansion of a new aircraft modification production line focused on communications upgrades, structural enhancements, and avionics modernization efforts for one of the nation's premier military airlift platforms.
Project Details / Mission Supported:
• Support large-scale military aircraft modernization and communication system upgrade initiatives
• Perform structural, electrical, and avionics modifications that improve aircraft mission readiness and operational capabilities
• Contribute to aircraft sustainment, maintenance, and modernization efforts within an active military aviation environment
Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:
• 2+ years of experience in maintenance, modifications, structures, electrical systems, or aircraft avionics
• 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and wiring diagrams
• Experience assembling, modifying, repairing, and replacing components and wiring harnesses
• Experience performing structural modifications and repairs
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working on large aircraft, military aircraft, or within aviation maintenance environments
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing aircraft electrical and avionics systems
• Experience supporting aircraft repair, maintenance, retrofit, or modification programs
• Previous C-17 aircraft experience
• Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
• Boeing aircraft maintenance or modification experience
• Military aviation maintenance background
• Experience supporting aircraft modernization, communications upgrades, avionics installations, or structural modification programs
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and aircraft documentation experience
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Onsite Expectation: 100% Onsite
Clearance Level: Willing to obtain Secret
Salary/Pay Range: $36 - $46/hr
