KBR is seeking an experienced RF systems engineer with specialized expertise in Transition Implementation Plan (TIP) operations and space-based RF system calibration. This position requires a technical leader capable of guiding, consulting on, and leading complex calibration efforts for satellite RF systems operating in the space environment.

Work Environment:
  • Location: On-site
  • Travel Requirements: May require travel up to 20% of time within the continental United States

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and provide technical guidance on RF system calibration activities for space-based assets throughout TIP execution phase
  • Design, develop, and implement calibration procedures for both transmit and receive RF chains in orbital environments
  • Serve as subject matter expert and technical consultant for RF calibration challenges unique to space operations
  • Develop and validate end-to-end calibration methodologies accounting for space environment effects
  • Interface with mission operations, ground systems, and payload teams to ensure calibration accuracy and mission performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve RF calibration anomalies during on-orbit operations
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams on RF calibration best practices and TIP related activities


Basic Compensation:

$206,000 - $240,000 USD annually

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Required Qualifications:
  • Current TS/SCI Poly clearance is required for this position
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, RF engineering, or related technical field (Master's preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in RF systems engineering with focus on space-based applications
  • Demonstrated experience with Transition Implementation Plan (TIP) operations and execution
  • Proven expertise in RF system calibration for both transmit and receive paths
  • Deep understanding of space environment effects on RF performance (thermal variations, radiation, vacuum)
  • Experience with on-orbit calibration techniques and methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work complex technical issues independently


Desired:
  • Experience with satellite payload integration and test
  • Knowledge of automated calibration procedures and scripting
  • Familiarity with mission operations concepts and ground system interfaces
  • Background in phased array systems, beamforming, or adaptive RF systems
  • Experience with RF measurement equipment and analysis tools
  • Previous technical leadership or consulting role on space programs
