Job Title: Janitor – Day Lead
Job Summary:
Lead daytime janitorial operations at FLETC Charleston to ensure all assigned areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. As LAUKOA’s Day Lead Janitor, you will supervise cleaning personnel, coordinate daily task execution, and serve as the on-site point of contact for any day-shift custodial concerns.
Location: Charleston, SC
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support day janitorial staff in performing assigned cleaning duties across administrative buildings and training areas.
- Distribute materials and supplies to janitors.
- Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with contract cleaning standards, including sanitizing, dusting, trash removal, and floor care.
- Schedule and assign cleaning tasks based on the approved Cleaning Matrix and frequency tables from the PWS.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to daytime janitorial personnel on safety procedures and cleaning protocols.
- Communicate facility maintenance issues and discrepancies to the COR or Facilities Manager.
- Ensure use of appropriate PPE and safe handling of chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- Provide reports as required by management.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request resupply as needed.
- Coordinate response to special cleaning requests or emergencies during the day shift.
- Maintain proper documentation and shift handover communication.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of custodial or janitorial experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or lead role or team lead capacity.
- Knowledge of industry-standard cleaning techniques, tools, and chemical use.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret cleaning schedules, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple staff assignments.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physically capable of extended periods of standing, walking through multi-level buildings, and lifting up more than 30 lbs.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be eligible for DHS background investigation and suitability clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with work authorization.
- This position may require the operation of Company-provided vehicles.
- If operating Company-provided vehicles, maintaining a valid driver’s license in good standing is a condition of employment.
- If operating Company-provided vehicles, employee must comply with all Company vehicle use and safety policies, as well as all applicable traffic laws.
- If operating Company-provided vehicles, the Company may review your motor vehicle record (MVR), as permitted by law, to verify eligibility to operate Company vehicles.
- If operating Company-provided vehicles, you must immediately notify the Company if your driver’s license is suspended, revoked, restricted, expires, or if your driving privileges otherwise change.
- Willing to work the following schedule:
- Monday – Friday: 0700-1600
- Work schedules are determined by management and may be modified at any time based on business needs, contractual obligations, and operational requirements.
