Job Description
Kearney & Company is currently seeking an Air Force Financial Management Senior Specialist to join our team in Dayton, OH and various other locations in the U.S. to serve as a key member of the Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS) Deployment and Training Team in support of Data Visualization. The successful candidate will oversee the deployment, sustainment, and optimization of financial data visualization tools (primarily dashboards) at Department of Air Force installations. This role provides expert guidance on integrating, updating, and troubleshooting dashboard solutions, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and drives user empowerment through advanced training and change management. The Senior Specialist is responsible for mentoring junior and journeyman staff, engaging with senior leadership, and recommending strategic improvements to dashboard and data analytics processes.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of Air Force Financial Management experience
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and other data visualization/business intelligence tools
• Familiarity with AF Financial Management and financial data elements
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team management skills
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
• Understanding of the Department of War Standard Financial Information Structure (SFIS) and the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret level security clearance (requires US Citizenship)
• Must be willing and able to travel as required, up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
• BA or MA Degree
• Experience in Advana, Envision, or other cloud based software enclaves
• Experience in Oracle Cloud
• Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite (eBS) 11i and R12
• Experience creating efficient data models using Microsoft Power BI Desktop's in-memory technology
• Knowledge of Microsoft's Power Platform (PowerAutomate, Power Apps, etc.)
• Knowledge of Air Force legacy systems such as the Automated Funds Management (AFM), Civilian Pay Accounting Interface System (CPAIS), Central Procurement Accounting System (CPAS), Commanders' Resource Integration System (CRIS), General Accounting and Finance System Base Level (GAFS-BL), General Accounting and Finance System Re-Engineered (GAFS-R), Integrated Accounts Payable System (IAPS), Job Order Cost Accounting System II (JOCAS II), Standard Base Supply System (SBSS), Standard Materiel Accounting System (SMAS), and Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF)

The expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $140,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).

- Lead teams in the deployment and installation of Command-specific dashboards at Department of Air Force installations, including complex modifications for local and command requirements.
- Oversee and direct daily sustainment and updates of dashboard capabilities, integrating multiple data sources (~30) and maintaining existing FMFO products (~80).
- Provide expert-level user support and troubleshooting for dashboard and Power BI tools, resolving escalated and complex issues.
- Design, develop, and implement advanced data models and visualization solutions, leveraging business intelligence platforms and, where appropriate, AI/ML tools.
- Conduct and facilitate advanced training sessions for installation users, develop and update training materials, and lead organizational change management initiatives.
- Mentor and supervise junior and journeyman financial management staff, providing guidance and quality assurance for all deliverables.
- Analyze user feedback, system performance, and data trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, security requirements, and government policies, and support audit readiness and remediation efforts.
- Prepare and deliver high-level presentations, reports, and user guides for technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Serve as a key liaison with MAJCOM, COCOM, and other command-level stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate dashboard capabilities and enhancements.
