The Material Coordinator coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisor's priorities. In this job, the Material Coordinator reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisor to determine material required and overdue material, requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. Will arrange transfers of material to meet production schedules and will coordinate with department supervisor for repairs and assembly of material and transportation to and from various locations.
Will create, monitor and control movements of material and parts using Oracle Supply and Support Systems Integration database (SASSI). Employee will enter all "Schedule A" and Equipment Identification Numbers (EINs), baselines to include level codes, piece part location numbers, shipping foundation, and cabinet sequence information and document test data results using Oracle database screens. Will maintain history files and logbooks of all equipment and installation materials for buildup and shipping of Radio Communications System (RCS) deliveries and conduct a complete inventory of the RCS equipment on the Satellite Production Test Center (SPTC) allowing the development of the Shipping Invoice and Receipt Form (SIIRF Cards).
Will be required to maintain and provide matrixes to team leads to support data calls and submit Logistics Action Forms (LAF's) and support light packing for RCS shipments, as needed.
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $29.27/hr.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
High School diploma and at least 2 years of experience in inventory control, production scheduling
Detail oriented and good organizational skills
Proficient with Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
Dependable and reliable
Self starter, motivated and able to positively motivate others on the team
Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
