Mechanical Designer / Drafter


Responsibilities

• 
  
  Support spacecraft mechanical design activities, including 3D modeling and drafting in SolidWorks (CREO experience considered).
  
  


• 
  
  Translate engineering and stakeholder requirements into compliant mechanical designs and detailed engineering drawings.
  
  


• 
  
  Contribute to the development of mechanical systems, subsystems, and components.
  
  


• 
  
  Produce drawings in accordance with GD&T – ASME Y14 standards and applicable NASA/DOD drafting requirements.
  
  


• 
  
  Present design concepts and deliverables during formal design reviews; prepare associated documentation.
  
  


• 
  
  Maintain CAD models, drawings, and configuration documentation within the CAD Data Management System.
  
  


• 
  
  Participate in project meetings, collaborate with engineering teams, and complete assigned tasks on schedule.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  
  High school diploma required; AS degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  
  


• 
  
  Proficiency in GD&T / ASME Y14.5.
  
  


• 
  
  Experience working with mechanical designs and technical systems.
  
  


• 
  
  Proficiency in SolidWorks or CREO CAD tools.
  
  


• 
  
  Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  
  Experience with NASA or spaceflight hardware.
  
  


• 
  
  2+ years of hands-on SolidWorks experience.
  
  


• 
  
  Experience using CAD Data Management Systems.
  
  


• 
  
  Familiarity with NASA fabrication tolerances, materials, and manufacturing practices.
