C/C++ Embedded Developer - Manassas, VA (Onsite, DoD Secret Clearance Required) About the Role Join a dynamic, cross-functional engineering team as an Embedded C/C++ Developer in Manassas, Virginia. This high-impact role focuses on evaluating and modernizing a large legacy codebase while enhancing CI/CD pipelines for critical defense-related applications. Responsibilities - Evaluate complex legacy C/C++ codebases to identify modernization opportunities. - Assess and enhance existing CI/CD pipelines to improve build, test, and deployment processes. - Develop and execute a strategic roadmap to enable modular builds and scalable software architecture. - Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to validate enhancements and ensure quality. - Identify and remediate technical obstacles stemming from technical debt or evolving system requirements. - Integrate shared CI/CD capabilities and champion best practices for automation and DevOps. Required Skills and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field. - Proficiency with modern C/C++ (C++11/14/17+). - Direct experience developing on Linux operating systems using command-line toolchains. - Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) for C/C++ projects. - Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance (US citizenship required). Preferred Skills - Advanced experience with GitLab and diverse CI/CD strategies. - Background in architecting large legacy systems (Java, C, C++). - Knowledge of automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and release pipeline construction. - Familiarity with microservices architecture, API design (REST, gRPC, GraphQL, OpenAPI), and SAST tools (Fortify). - Experience with binary repositories (Artifactory, Nexus) and Agile/DevOps methodologies. - Previous involvement in defense programs at the Manassas, VA site.
