Software Test Engineer
Ground Fire Control | Test Automation
Full-Time with an Employee Owned and Best Places to Work Contractor
Onsite in Huntsville, AL | Schedule: 9x80
We are hiring a Software Test Engineer to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Test Team for the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product. This role supports defense software testing, systems integration, requirements verification, test automation, and test execution using technologies and tools including Python, C++, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, and Agile development practices.

Software Test Engineer

We are hiring a Software Test Engineer to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Test Team for the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product. This role supports defense software testing, systems integration, requirements verification, test automation, and test execution using technologies and tools including Python, C++, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, and Agile development practices.
Responsibilities:
- Support software testing and integration activities for the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program and Ground Fire Control (GFC) product.
- Develop, maintain, and execute software test plans, procedures, and test activities.
- Integrate system components within an integrated test environment.
- Support requirements development, collaboration, and verification activities.
- Develop and execute Python automation scripts and automated software tests.
- Support software and test activities involving object-oriented development languages and technologies such as C++, Python, Ada, Java, Mongo, and HTML.
- Use configuration management, version control, repository management, and data/configuration management tools including Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, and Jenkins.
- Work within Agile development and automated testing environments.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
- 2 years of relevant experience with a STEM bachelor's degree; experience must not exceed 5 years.
- Experience in software testing and integration, including test plans, test procedures, or test execution.
- Understanding of systems integration and the integration of system components within a test environment.
- Knowledge of requirements development and collaboration.
- Experience with object-oriented development languages and technologies such as C++, Python, Ada, Java, Mongo, and HTML.
- Knowledge of Python and automation scripting.
- Familiarity with configuration management and DevOps tools, including Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Experience using GitHub repositories, branches, commits, and pull requests, as well as version control, repository management, and data/configuration management practices.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and automated test tools.
- Must be able to work full-time in an in-office, closed-area environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current/active Top Secret security clearance.
- Understanding of containerized virtual environments.
- Familiarity with Linux, Bash, SQL, and MATLAB.
- Experience with the Eggplant test automation tool.
- Understanding of root cause analysis and analysis of large data log files.
