POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to support secure, mission-critical development environments within the aerospace and defense industry. This role is responsible for maintaining development infrastructure, supporting system administration functions, and integrating cybersecurity practices throughout the software and infrastructure development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and/or containerization, along with a strong understanding of coding, scripting, automation, and cybersecurity. This individual will leverage automation to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines while supporting secure software, hardware, and infrastructure deployment environments.
A Final Top Secret clearance is required prior to starting, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Maintain development infrastructure in accordance with customer and program specifications.
· Perform system administration functions in support of software and development activities.
· Support technical planning, design, development, integration, testing, verification, and validation throughout the total system lifecycle.
· Develop and maintain secure software and hardware infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications.
· Utilize coding, scripting, and automation tools to improve infrastructure deployment, configuration, security, and system reliability.
· Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code utilizing technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Packer, and AWS CloudFormation.
· Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes and containerized environments.
· Integrate cybersecurity principles and controls throughout software and infrastructure development.
· Incorporate automated security processes and testing into CI/CD pipelines.
· Utilize tools such as Argo CD, Ansible, GitLab CI, Git, and related automation technologies.
· Support GitOps-based infrastructure and application deployment practices.
· Assess, prioritize, and manage cybersecurity risks in alignment with customer and program requirements.
· Support threat modeling, security risk assessments, and security testing activities.
· Ensure DevSecOps processes comply with applicable information security, regulatory, governance, and cybersecurity requirements.
· Translate customer and product requirements into complete software, hardware, and infrastructure solutions.
· Perform functional and timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
· Develop, document, test, troubleshoot, and debug software supporting business and mission requirements.
· Support automated software and hardware deployment pipelines and development factories.
· Troubleshoot software, infrastructure, deployment, configuration, and system performance issues.
· Develop operating instructions and technical documentation related to software and infrastructure development.
· Collaborate with software engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and customer teams.
· Ensure applicable software development, cybersecurity, engineering standards, processes, and procedures are followed throughout the development lifecycle.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Qualifications
· Final Top Secret clearance required prior to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
· Security+, CISSP, or other DoD 8140-compliant certification required.
· Must possess hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Terraform, Packer, and/or AWS CloudFormation
Kubernetes
Containerization
· Experience maintaining development infrastructure and/or performing system administration functions.
· Experience with coding, scripting, and automation tools.
