Position Overview
We are seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to support mission-critical government programs focused on modern cloud infrastructure, systems integration, and operational support. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, implementing, automating, and maintaining secure cloud-based environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
This role requires a strong background in AWS cloud technologies, Linux administration, automation, cybersecurity compliance, and DevOps/DevSecOps practices. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, deployment, integration, and sustainment of enterprise cloud solutions that support operational missions and evolving technology requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment processes.
Support the migration of legacy systems and applications to modern cloud architectures.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions and automated deployment pipelines.
Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows-based systems in cloud and hybrid environments.
Implement and support containerized applications and services.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security while identifying opportunities for optimization.
Collaborate with engineers, administrators, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
Support systems integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activities.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, standards, and security frameworks.
Participate in Agile development, DevOps, and DevSecOps initiatives.
Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and training materials.
Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve operational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret Security Clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of professional IT experience supporting enterprise environments.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience implementing and sustaining solutions within a production cloud environment.
Strong experience with AWS cloud technologies and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
Current Security+ CE certification or equivalent DoD 8140 IAM Level II certification.
Experience administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker.
Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Jenkins, or similar technologies.
Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
Strong understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps methodologies.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements, including STIGs, SCAP, and RMF.
Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), Active Directory, PKI, and authentication technologies.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
