Overview:
By Light is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Simulation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, simulation, and modeling, with a focus on complex systems integration. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining simulation software for various defense and commercial applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-fidelity simulation models for complex systems.
• Integrate simulation software with existing systems and platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and ensure simulation accuracy.
• Perform testing, debugging, and optimization of simulation code.
• Document simulation models, code, and processes.
• Provide technical support and training to users.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in simulation and modeling.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, preferably in simulation and modeling.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
• Experience with simulation tools and frameworks (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, OpenFOAM).
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Security clearance: Secret clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with defense or aerospace applications.
• Knowledge of real-time simulation and embedded systems.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Experience with agile development processes.
