Job Description

New Era Technologies is seeking an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Engagement Operations Team Product Owner who will support the Army Program Executive Office Fires (PEO Fires) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office by providing product ownership and technical guidance for Engagement Operations software development.

The critical activity your efforts will support will be the prioritization and validation of software capabilities for the Engagement Operations team.

You will work with Systems Engineering teams to review and understand concepts, designs, algorithms, and technical approaches and provide guidance to Agile software development teams.

You will work closely with Program Management to establish priorities for capabilities, enhancements, and defects for each product increment and sprint.

You will provide oversight of an Engagement Operations software development team and verify development activities against established requirements and acceptance criteria.

You will work directly with Agile software developers and participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure delivered capabilities meet mission and technical objectives.

You will support Engagement Operations capabilities including engagement planning and scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.

You will provide technical briefings and advisement to program leadership on development status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, technical performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.

You will analyze and communicate technical risks, capability priorities, and development impacts to support informed program-level decision making.

You will collaborate with government, engineering, program management, and software development stakeholders to define priorities and ensure alignment between operational needs and software development activities.

You will support the development and validation of acceptance criteria and assess delivered software capabilities to ensure alignment with mission requirements.

Required

Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related technical field (ABET accreditation preferred)

10 years of combined Government/DoD experience performing related duties

Experience with IBCS Engagement Operations Center (EOC)

Understanding of Engagement Operations concepts, including engagement planning and scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management

Experience providing oversight of software development teams and validating work against established acceptance criteria

Experience working directly with Agile software development teams

Ability to participate in and contribute to software design and code reviews

Fluent with Microsoft Office tools

US citizenship

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance or higher

Desired

Experience with IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS

Familiarity with current Engagement Operations implementations across one or more Department of Defense services

Prior Product Owner experience supporting a Scrum/Agile development team

Experience supporting Air and Missile Defense systems, mission command systems, or related command and control capabilities
