Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Security Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, with expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to protect our critical infrastructure and data assets.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement security strategies and best practices to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential threats.
• Design and implement secure network architectures and access controls.
• Manage and maintain security tools and platforms, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security engineers.
• Stay current with emerging security threats, trends, and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
• Experience with security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and encryption.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of application security and secure coding practices.
• Experience with incident response and digital forensics.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM.
