About the Role:
Aquila Technology is seeking a Systems Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Engineer to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The Systems Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Engineer will join a highly technical team supporting advanced engineering initiatives. The team develops and demonstrates advanced sensor system and command and control concepts incorporating emerging signal and data processing algorithms, architectures and techniques. The team is focused on system concept development for RF and optical systems, modeling and simulation, signal processing algorithm design, RF and optical system design and development, experimental field testing and data analysis and development of one-of-a-kind operational and experimental test assets.
The team together has expertise in adaptive sensor array processing for both radar and communications, advanced real-time software techniques, signal detection and estimation, communications, and systems analysis. You should expect to help conduct a significant amount of field testing and data collection to prove new concepts and collaborates with other teams throughout the organization for real-time prototype implementation, experiment execution, and systems analysis.

Aquila Technology will reimburse team members who work from home ONLY for cell phone/mobile device fees for work-related communications and/or operations each month. Employees eligible for this benefit must work remote 2 days a week or more to qualify.
Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) – Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. Electronic devices eligible under the Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) program are limited to cell phones, laptops, and tablets.

Required Skills:
- MS in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- 6 years of relevant experience performing either systems analysis or data analysis.
- Candidate should have experience in several of the following fields: radar systems engineering, radar data analysis, signal processing, statistical data analysis.
- Candidate must be able to explore innovative techniques and algorithms and be able to understand how these new developments can affect an existing radar system’s capabilities.
- Expert with MATLAB (anonymous functions, object oriented programming and various toolboxes, phased array as an example)
- Candidate must have good organizational skills with the ability to complete assignments working independently and in a team environment, and effectively present results.
- Effective communication with colleagues, sponsors, and other research sites.
