🔬 METALLURGICAL LAB TECHNICIAN II

💲 Pay Rate
Up to $30.00 per hour
🕒 Shift Schedule
2nd Shift Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM
About the Position
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a skilled Metallurgical Lab Technician II to support laboratory testing, inspections, and quality assurance activities. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in mechanical and metallurgical testing who enjoy working in a quality-focused manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Maintain material traceability and assist with physical and mechanical testing
✅ Utilize precision inspection tools and equipment
✅ Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, procedures, and technical drawings
✅ Perform inspections including:
✅ Conduct mechanical testing for product acceptance and qualifications, including:
✅ Prepare inspection and test reports
✅ Complete work order entries and dimensional layout documentation
✅ Verify product acceptance using:
✅ Maintain laboratory documentation, reports, and logbooks
Qualifications
Required
✔ Associate Degree in Metallurgy
OR
✔ 5 years of laboratory experience in mechanical and metallurgical testing
OR
✔ 3 years of mechanical and metallurgical laboratory training/classes plus 2 years of mechanical and metallurgical lab experience
OR
✔ Equivalent combination of education and experience

- Dimensional Inspection
- MRB Inspection
- Receiving Inspection
✅ Conduct mechanical testing for product acceptance and qualifications, including:
- Torque Testing
- Torque-Tension Testing
- Tensile Testing
- Vibration Testing
- Push-Out Testing
- Torque-Out Testing
✅ Prepare inspection and test reports
✅ Complete work order entries and dimensional layout documentation
✅ Verify product acceptance using:
- Sampling Plans
- Engineering Drawings
- Standards
- Specifications
- Work Instructions
✅ Maintain laboratory documentation, reports, and logbooks
Qualifications
Required
✔ Associate Degree in Metallurgy
OR
✔ 5 years of laboratory experience in mechanical and metallurgical testing
OR
✔ 3 years of mechanical and metallurgical laboratory training/classes plus 2 years of mechanical and metallurgical lab experience
OR
