PRISM is seeking an experienced Oracle OCI Database Administrator to provision, administer, optimize, and support mission-critical Oracle databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
The role will support Oracle Database 19c/23c environments, including multitenant Container Databases (CDBs) and Pluggable Databases (PDBs), as well as cloud migration, modernization, high availability, and disaster recovery initiatives. This is a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provision and administer Oracle databases on OCI DB Systems, Exadata Cloud Service, and Autonomous Database platforms, including ATP and ADW.
Manage CDB/PDB environments, including cloning, patching, upgrades, and resource management.
Implement and support RMAN backup/recovery, Oracle Data Guard, and cross-region disaster recovery architectures.
Perform performance analysis and tuning using AWR, ASH, SQL optimization, and related tools.
Troubleshoot complex performance, connectivity, database, compute, storage, network, and OCI resource issues. Automate database and cloud administration using Terraform, OCI CLI, Bash, Python, or similar scripting tools.
Support Oracle database migrations and modernization efforts. Develop and maintain procedures, runbooks, technical documentation, and automation workflows.
Collaborate with distributed engineering, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS/EDUCATION):
7+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
2-3+ years of hands-on OCI experience.
Experience supporting production, mission-critical workloads. Strong knowledge of Oracle Database 19c/23c and multitenant CDB/PDB architecture. Working knowledge of OCI VCNs, subnets, IAM, compartments, storage, and security. Ability to operate independently in cloud-native environments.
Ability to design high-availability and disaster recovery solutions in OCI.
Ability to diagnose complex issues across database, compute, storage, and network layers. Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code experience strongly preferred. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)-Oracle Database 19c/23c. OCI Architect Associate certification. OCI Architect Professional certification. Oracle Autonomous Database Specialist certification preferred. Oracle Database Performance Tuning Specialist certification preferred.
