Overview
Caribou Thunder is seeking a DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and optimization of secure development pipelines that support classified Department of Defense software capabilities. This role focuses on infrastructure evolution, automation, and continuous improvement to sustain a secure and agile development lifecycle. You will contribute to the delivery and control of COTS and internally developed products by building robust CI/CD environments, enforcing SCM standards, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Caribou Thunder is seeking a DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and optimization of secure development pipelines that support classified Department of Defense software capabilities. This role focuses on infrastructure evolution, automation, and continuous improvement to sustain a secure and agile development lifecycle. You will contribute to the delivery and control of COTS and internally developed products by building robust CI/CD environments, enforcing SCM standards, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
A Day in the Life - What You'll Do
- Apply configuration management methodologies across classified system environments
- Support software development teams throughout the software lifecycle using Agile practices
- Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity and configuration tools using Python, Perl, or shell scripting
- Integrate and enhance CI/CD pipelines with test-driven development tools and code coverage solutions
- Drive continuous improvement processes to increase development efficiency and product quality
- Implement Software Configuration Management (SCM) practices, both automated and manual
- Utilize Jira to track bugs, enhancements, and sprint planning deliverables
- Promote DevOps best practices and culture within development teams
- Contribute to software security, maintainability, and audit-readiness
Basic Qualifications

DevOps Engineer - Level 2:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM and 2 years of related experience, OR
- Master's degree in STEM and 0 years, OR
- 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
DevOps Engineer - Level 3:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years of related experience, OR
- Master's degree in STEM and 3 years, OR
- PhD and 0 years, OR
- 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
Core Requirements:
- Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance (in-scope, required at start)
- Intermediate Linux OS experience
- Intermediate scripting experience in Python, Perl, or shell
- Experience managing and supporting multiple concurrent tasks
- Familiarity with software development tools and collaborative work in software teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with source control tools (e.g., Git)
- C++ programming experience
- Hands-on experience with legacy software modernization
- Experience in Agile software development teams
- Familiarity with full software development lifecycle workflows
- Proficiency with any of the following:
- Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- Jenkins
- Git
- Conan
- CMake
