Job Description

Valiant is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Games for Training Lead to oversee training support services for the Army at the Mission Training Complex (MTC) at JBLM, Washington. This full-time position involves comprehensive management of training resources, including personnel, equipment, and facilities, while ensuring the MTC meets customer training objectives. The role also includes Contractor and venue scheduling as well as usage reporting. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to maintain strong communication and collaboration with military customers, government officials, and contract staff, working closely with department leads, government leadership, and the contract Program Manager to ensure successful program execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads 7-10 small unit training contractors in delivering Army gaming simulation support to collective training events.
  • Planning Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the execution of gaming supported exercises for battalion and below units.
  • Schedules and resources all MTC gaming supported events (presently referred to as "Virtual Collective Training Center" within the MTC).
  • Supervises the maintenance of all MTC Gaming suites including physical layout, hardware, software versions, IAVA patches, RMF requirements, mission command systems integration, and enablers.
  • Plans and coordinates the integration of VBS3 as a core system with other US Army mission command systems such as MMCS and future command and control systems .
  • Understands mission command, small unit leader and staff training, development of training objectives, use of simulations and scenario products to meet training objectives.
  • Tailors training venues for innovative support to meet commanders' training objections. For example: the development of the Virtual Drone Collective Trainer.
  • Supervises the testing of software and gaming databases.
  • Prepares and presents briefings and demonstrations on gaming simulation models and exercise-related issues.
  • Maintains MTC leadership visibility of GFT maintenance, systems and suite availability, property accountability, event status, training usage, and training coordination using the MTC Share Point portal and MS Teams.
  • Responsible for the gaming period of instruction and coaching to small unit individuals on VBS3 and Platform Mission Command (currently MMCS and legacy JBC-P).
  • Provides AAR support to the unit.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active Secret

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Completed the Army Command and General Staff Officer Course (CGSOC), Intermediate Level Education (ILE), SGM Academy or equivalent level military schooling desired.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years' experience with military training and training support at Brigade or higher, Battalion/Brigade S3 Staff, and Mission Command software and systems.
  • Experience with gaming and constructive simulation programs.
  • Experience as part of a G3/S3 staff at battalion or higher.
  • Direct knowledge of Mission Command Warfighting Functions, Small Unit Tactics Decisive Action Training Environment, Military Decision-Making Process, Troop Leading Procedures
  • Excellent organizational, research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Position requires close customer contact and the ability to work independently and creatively.
  • Successful candidates must exhibit the ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and senior government officials.
  • Must be proficient in the following computer applications: Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Visio and Outlook.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as standing for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when needed.
  • Perform work in buildings and outdoor environments.
  • Outdoor environments may involve inclement weather conditions, carrying equipment over uneven terrain, and maneuvering equipment in tight spaces.
