JOB TITLE: Security Engineer
GOVERNMENT AGENCY: DOJ NSD – National Security Division
POSITION INFORMATION: Full-Time Position; Government contractor supporting DOJ NSD
LOCATION: Washington, DC (onsite)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information and systems.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Manage and maintain security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption tools.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all systems and applications.
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders.
- Investigate security incidents and respond to security breaches in a timely and effective manner.
- Stay current with emerging security threats and trends, and recommend improvements to security strategies and technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on security engineering and implementation.
- Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Active Top Secret security clearance required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with cloud security platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices and methodologies.
- Experience with security compliance standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or GDPR.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or SANS/GIAC are a plus.
