JOB SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for identifying, developing, qualifying, capturing, and advancing new business opportunities that align with USfalcon's strategic growth objectives and core capabilities. The Director will develop and maintain strong relationships across the Space Force and broader space and defense communities while building actionable opportunity pipelines and leading opportunities from early identification through proposal submission and award.

The successful candidate will combine customer intimacy, opportunity development, capture leadership, technical understanding, and strong written communication skills. This is a hands-on business development leadership role requiring the ability to independently develop opportunities, lead capture activities, draft and coordinate RFI responses, and actively lead and contribute to proposal development with a season team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Develop and execute the Space Force growth strategy focused on U.S. Space Force (USSF), USSPACECOM, Department of the Air Force, and related national security space customers.
  • Identify, qualify, and advance new business opportunities that align with USfalcon's capabilities, past performance, contract vehicles, strategic priorities, and growth objectives.
  • Build and manage a robust business development pipeline of near-, mid-, and long-term opportunities, maintaining accurate opportunity data, acquisition timelines, customer intelligence, competitive assessments, and next actions.
  • Develop and maintain strategic customer relationships with key USSF, USSPACECOM, DAF, DoD, acquisition, program, and industry stakeholders to strengthen customer intimacy and position USfalcon for future opportunities.
  • Develop comprehensive customer and market intelligence regarding mission priorities, requirements, budgets and funding, acquisition strategies, organizational challenges, emerging needs, and competitive activity, translating intelligence into actionable growth strategies.
  • Plan and conduct customer engagements and market outreach, representing USfalcon at customer meetings, industry days, conferences, association events, and other strategic engagements within the Colorado Springs and national security space communities.
  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic teaming relationships with subcontractors, technology providers, small businesses, and other industry partners that strengthen USfalcon's capabilities and competitive position.
  • Serve as Capture Manager for assigned strategic opportunities, leading opportunities from qualification and early positioning through solicitation, proposal submission, evaluation, and award.
  • Support the develop and execute of comprehensive capture plans addressing customer requirements, acquisition strategy, competitive landscape, incumbent position, solution development, staffing, teaming, pricing considerations, past performance, risks, discriminators, and win themes.
  • Conduct competitive assessments and develop opportunity-specific win strategies, including competitor and incumbent analysis, strengths and vulnerabilities, USfalcon competitive advantages, discriminators, value propositions, win themes, and customer-focused messaging.
  • Lead capture execution and opportunity gate reviews, identifying gaps, assigning and tracking actions, assessing probability of win, and providing objective recommendations to leadership regarding pursuit and bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Support responses to RFIs, Sources Sought Notices, Requests for Capability Statements, Draft RFPs, and other Government market research activities, developing response strategies that effectively position USfalcon's capabilities, experience, technical approaches, and differentiators.
  • Serve as a writer for strategic market research responses, coordinating contributions from operations, technical SMEs, contracts, recruiting, pricing, teammates, and corporate leadership to produce compliant, compelling, and customer-focused submissions.
  • Lead the transition from capture to proposal, ensuring proposal teams understand the customer mission, solicitation requirements, competitive environment, technical and management solution, win strategy, discriminators, and supporting evidence.
  • Serve as Proposal Lead, Volume Lead, and/or Lead Writer for strategic Space Force opportunities, leading proposal kickoff, solutioning, storyboarding, writing assignments, compliance activities, reviews, and final submission efforts as required
  • Analyze solicitations and develop proposal strategies and structure, including evaluation of Section L/M requirements, evaluation criteria and customer priorities and development of compliance matrices, outlines, content plans, storyboards, and writing assignments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience supporting DoD, Federal Government, or defense industry customers, with significant experience in business development, capture, program management, operations, or related growth functions.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or pursuing U.S. Space Force, U.S. Space Command, Air Force, or other national security space customers.
  • Strong knowledge of the Colorado Springs defense and space market.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, qualifying, and developing Federal Government contracting opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of the Federal acquisition lifecycle and competitive Government contracting environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical information into concise and persuasive customer-focused messaging.
  • Ability to develop and deliver executive-level briefings, customer presentations, and opportunity assessments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership, operations, technical SMEs, proposal personnel, recruiting, contracts, pricing, and external partners.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance; TS/SCI eligibility or active TS/SCI preferred.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Management, National Security, Space Operations, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Secret

TRAVEL: 10%
