Job Description
Vistra is seeking a Research and Program Analyst to support our team working for the Military Community Advocacy Directorate. The analyst applies expert understanding of social science disciplines, research methodology, and program evaluation to investigate, analyze, and evaluate policies, programs, and procedures that relate to domestic abuse and child abuse and neglect in the military. This position must work independently with some guidance to ensure high fidelity of research activities and their applicability in the military context.
While this position is primarily remote, preference will be given to candidates in the National Capital Region.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Conduct literature reviews and other program evaluation activities to develop recommendations that inform program improvements and modernization.
- Develop and contribute solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of directly related experience.
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion policies and programs.
- Experience with program evaluation using a systems advocacy approach.
- Experience conducting social science, public health, or workplace climate research (e.g., program evaluation, climate surveys).
- Experience conducting literature reviews, assessing research quality, and synthesizing findings and recommendations.
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Ability to provide clear verbal and written communications to a variety of stakeholders in alignment with Department of War style expectations.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior or current security clearance.
- Experience working in a military environment.
- Experience with creating verbal and written communication products for clients, including presentations and information papers.
- Experience interpreting statistical findings and presenting data and research results to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
