Duties
The primary purpose of this position is: As an Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted located in the Contingency Response Squadron (CRS) (or a CRF/ALCF). The purpose of the position is to accomplish a variety of tasks which support and enhance the CRS's readiness and capability to perform its wartime and peacetime missions. Additionally, provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of task set forth herein.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems in the Federal service which includes knowledge of overall Airlift Control Flight (ALCF) operations policies, directives, and procedures and a comprehensive knowledge of ALCF associated programs in order to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations; knowledge of analytical techniques to measure effectiveness, efficiency, productivity and mission preparedness of responsible Airlift control flight operations and the ability to use quality tools in problem solving and data analysis; knowledge of budgetary rules, regulations, and guides to effectively project budgetary short and/or long term requirements; and knowledge and skill in using various computer capabilities to support assignments.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of overall Contingency Response Squadron (CRS) operations policies, directives, and procedures and a comprehensive knowledge of CRS associated programs in order to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on substantive program changes within the NAF.
2. Knowledge of analytical techniques to measure effectiveness, efficiency, productivity and mission preparedness of responsible Contingency Response Squadron operations and the ability to use quality tools in problem solving and data analysis.
3. Skill and ability to prepare project and staff reports and to deliver briefings to high-level officials and personnel both civilian and military.
4. Knowledge of budgetary rules, regulations and guides to effectively project budgetary short and/or long-term requirements.
5. Knowledge and skill in using various computer capabilities to support assignments.
6. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in order to present staff assistance briefings and inproviding classroom training as needed.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS:
1. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air ForceReserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow the incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies.The incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may also be assigned non-ARTduties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.
2. Incumbent will be required to travel by military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary dutyassignments (TDY).
3. Employee may be required to offset regular duty hours to work evenings and/or weekends.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members; are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency. Retired military that have active AF Reserve assignments may apply provided they show assignment (position) on the application. - Provides the Aircraft Operations Officer and CRS Commander with technical support in developing and maintaining unit readiness. Provides daily management of office and administrative functions to include the accomplishment of publications and forms requisitions and the maintenance of the publications library
- Analyzes data to assist in completing CRS supportability estimates/logistics feasibility assignments.
- Responsible for unit fund management to include analyzing day-to-day budget expenditures, forecasting and preparing the annual budget, as well as establishing long range requirements for major acquisitions.
- Serves as the training NCO (or assistant), develops, and helps implement unit training programs/procedures/plans to prepare unit to support war contingency plans., CRS mission requirements and other mobility responsibilities
- Actively participates in the recruitment of qualified reservists to fill vacant CRS positions.
