RF Systems/Hardware Engineer

This position requires onsite work in Aurora, CO and an active TS/SCI W/ Poly security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.

Solidus is seeking a highly skilled and motivated RF Systems/Hardware Engineer to join our team in supporting advanced satellite communication ground systems. In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to troubleshoot, document, and resolve system outages; analyze and restore system operations; develop workarounds; and ensure overall system performance and reliability. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with RF systems, diagnostic tools, and system architecture, and is ready to support dynamic operational requirements, including travel, emergency repairs, and after-hours calls.

Day in the Life:

• Troubleshoot, document, and resolve system outages and operational issues
• Collect diagnostic data and accurately log system problems using reporting tools
• Restore system operations and develop workarounds to maintain mission availability
• Store, retrieve, and manipulate system data for analysis and troubleshooting
• Use analytic devices such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers to diagnose RF issues
• Monitor equipment performance and implement necessary modifications to ensure conformance with specifications
• Support the development of concepts of operations and contribute to system architecture recommendations
• Participate in system recovery activities and emergency repair actions as required
• Provide occasional after-hours call-in support for critical system needs
• Support operational requirements including CONUS and OCONUS travel and rapid-response trips with minimal notice
• Work at heights and meet all safety and training requirements for antenna/tower operations
• Assist with system upgrades on hardware supported by Windows and Linux-based systems
• Collaborate with vendors to coordinate repair and tracking of critical equipment
• Generate technical documentation such as schematics, block diagrams, BOMs, and design review materials
• Identify and document RF capability enhancements through white papers and technical submittals
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Active TS/SCI w/Poly clearance is required
• Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) 
• 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
• Cultural fit amongst a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Influence design performance & cost trade-offs for proposed engineering changes
• Contribute effectively on design teams and provide technical insight to the team members
• Apply previous knowledge and experience to provide recommendations for development of new operational concepts, architecture, and to increase efficiencies within the existing system.
• Support design performance & cost trade-off studies for proposed engineering changes
• Proficient use of Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes
• Operations and Maintenance (O&M)
• Experience working with vendors for the timely repair and tracking of critical operational hardware.
• Experience upgrading hardware supported by Windows and Linux based systems
• Previous experience working with systems supported by Linux operating systems
• Highly articulate with strong written and verbal communications skills
• Technical ability to identify and document system related RF capability enhancements through generation and submittal of White Papers and other submittals

Benefit selection, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.

Full benefits: $152,000 to $191,000 annually
 Reduced benefits (no medical, dental, vision): Up to $206,000 annually
