Job Description
SkyBridge Aviation is seeking an experienced Electrical / RF Mission Systems Engineer to support a confidential defense and mission-systems client in Atlanta. The initial effort supports a mobile command-center capability integrated into an armored ground vehicle. This role focuses on platform-level communications, RF, electrical, EMI/EMC, antenna, power, wiring, and interface integration within and around a protected modular equipment architecture.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and support electrical, communications, and mission-system block diagrams.
• Support HF/RF communications integration, RF modeling, and communications-system analysis.
• Develop and evaluate RF/HF link budgets and support antenna selection, placement, and integration.
• Analyze and mitigate co-site interference between communications and RF systems.
• Perform or support EMI/EMC modeling, analysis, shielding, grounding/bonding, and related integration activities.
• Develop and support electrical wiring diagrams, harness/interconnect documentation, pinouts, connectors, and electrical interfaces.
• Perform and support electrical load and power analysis and integrate vehicle power requirements with mission equipment.
• Support radio-performance analysis and integration/test planning.
• Define and integrate discrete signals, data, audio, RF power, and other equipment interfaces.
• Support equipment integration within protected modular communications/mission-system racks, including applicable EMP/HEMP considerations.
• Coordinate with Mechanical and other engineering disciplines on rack architecture, equipment placement, cable routing, antenna installation, and system interfaces.
• Support prototype, integration-lab, test, production, and installation activities.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of relevant electrical, RF, communications, or mission-systems integration experience.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Ability/eligibility to upgrade to Top Secret.
• Strong platform-level electrical/RF or mission-systems integration experience.
• Experience integrating communications/electronic systems into ruggedized vehicles, aerospace platforms, vessels, or similarly complex defense systems.
• Experience with RF communications-system integration, RF analysis, link budgets, and/or antenna integration.
• Working knowledge of EMI/EMC and co-site interference considerations.
• Experience developing or interpreting electrical/system block diagrams, wiring/interface documentation, and system interconnections.
• Understanding of power, discrete signals, data, audio, and other equipment interfaces.
• Ability to work primarily onsite in the Atlanta integration environment.
Preferred Experience
• HF communications-system experience, including HF link-budget and antenna integration work.
• RF modeling, antenna placement, and co-site analysis.
• EMI/EMC modeling, mitigation, shielding, grounding/bonding, and MIL-STD-461 familiarity.
• Communications-rack or mission-equipment integration.
• EMP/HEMP-protected systems/enclosures and familiarity with MIL-STD-188-125 concepts.
• Vehicle power distribution, wiring harness/interconnect design, and ruggedized platform integration.
• TEMPEST/EMSEC experience for candidates with deeper RF/security backgrounds.
• Defense communications, command-and-control, or mission-system integration experience.
• Experience with modular/open-system architectures and standardized interfaces such as CMOSS/SOSA, VITA/OpenVPX, where applicable.
• Experience supporting integration labs, prototypes, system-level test, and field installation.
