Target Maintenance Technician

Target Maintenance Technicians keep range targetry - pop-up targets, target lifters, control cabling, and related mechanical/electrical systems - in working order so training can happen on schedule. This is a hands-on maintenance and light fabrication role, well suited to someone with basic mechanical, electrical, or carpentry skills who wants steady work with room to grow into more specialized maintenance or target systems roles.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, or carpentry aptitude (through school, hobby, prior work, or military experience).
- Comfortable working outdoors in varied terrain and weather.
- Ability to lift/carry maintenance equipment and materials (up to ~50 lbs).
- Ability to pass a standard background check and obtain installation access.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- No prior military or defense-contracting experience required - on-the-job training provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair target mechanisms, lifters, and target control devices on ranges before and after training use.
- Perform basic target fabrication (wood, metal) following standard target designs and painting specifications.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on range equipment, generators, and small engines.
- Assist with vegetation clearing and line-of-sight maintenance to keep targets visible from firing positions.
- Complete maintenance logs and report equipment deficiencies that require higher-level repair.
- Support range readiness checks ahead of scheduled unit training.
