Data Center Lead

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Center Lead to support a mission-critical data center environment at Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, CA (100% onsite). This is a hands-on technical lead role serving as the team's primary resource for data center operations, equipment installations, and infrastructure support.

Responsibilities for the Data Center Lead Include:

• Serve as the team's go-to resource by coordinating priorities, communicating status updates, disseminating tasks, and supporting engineering teams during infrastructure deployments
• Perform rack and stack activities, equipment installations, decommissioning of legacy hardware, equipment relocations, and structured cabling using cable matrices
• Physically install and connect network, server, and data center equipment while collaborating with engineers responsible for system configuration and implementation
• Support LAN, BAN, and WAN infrastructure projects by coordinating implementation efforts, maintaining documentation, and ensuring operational standards are met
• Analyze operational requirements, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and recommend process and performance improvements

Qualifications for the Data Center Lead:

• Active Secret Clearance required
• IAT Level II Certification required
• 5+ years of experience supporting data center operations, field services, network infrastructure, or related IT environments
• Hands-on experience with rack and stack activities, structured cabling, hardware installations, equipment moves, and decommissioning efforts
• Exposure to Cisco and Juniper networking equipment and experience supporting VMware/vSphere or Windows-based environments preferred
• High School Diploma or GED required; Computing Environment (CE)/Operating System certification such as MTA, MCSA, or MCTS preferred

Compensation for the Data Center Lead Include:

• Salary Range: $75,000 - $82,000
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
