Job Description
Kavaliro is seeking a Senior Cloud & Kubernetes Architect to support the design, deployment, and management of mission-critical systems across secure DoD environments. The role will focus on Kubernetes, cloud architecture, DevSecOps, automation, and secure deployments across multiple Impact Levels, with IL6/SIPR as the immediate priority.
Responsibilities
-Architect, deploy, and manage highly available Kubernetes/RKE2 clusters, including air-gapped environments.
-Support mission command system deployments across IL3, IL5, and IL6 environments.
-Design and implement Kubernetes DevSecOps environments for secure application deployment.
-Support AWS cloud architecture and automation using Terraform, Ansible, GitOps, EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
-Support RMF/ATO, DISA STIG, container hardening, patching, and DoD security requirements.
-Perform Linux/RHEL system administration and troubleshooting.
-Develop architecture and network diagrams and brief technical solutions to government stakeholders.
-Architect highly available services including PostgreSQL, MinIO, NGINX, and Keycloak.
Required Qualifications
-U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
-Security+ required.
-Strong Kubernetes architecture and administration experience.
-Hands-on experience with RKE2 or other Kubernetes distributions.
-Experience deploying high-availability Kubernetes clusters in air-gapped environments.
-Strong Linux/RHEL administration experience.
-Experience with Terraform/IaC and AWS.
-Familiarity with RMF, DISA STIGs, DoD security controls, and container security.
-Strong communication, technical documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
-CKA or CKAD certification.
-Experience supporting IL5/IL6/SIPR environments.
-Experience with EKS, AKS, RKE2, GitOps, and AWS automation.
-Experience deploying microservices across multiple DoD Impact Levels.
-Networking experience and familiarity with classified environments.
-Experience with DECSCOP or similar DoD mission environments.
Clearance: Active DoD Secret or higher
Certification: Security+ required; CKA/CKAD preferred
