Blu Omega is seeking an AWS / ETL Engineer to support a VA initiative focused on evaluating, building, and deploying an end-to-end communication workflow for high-volume outbound communications across Salesforce, S-Docs, AWS, and VA Notify. This role is responsible for supporting multiple mini-projects, known as intakes, within the Loan Guaranty Service (LGY) program for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

The VA LGY program helps active-duty service members, Veterans, and eligible surviving spouses buy, build, or keep a home.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate the communication architecture for scalability, reliability, security, auditability, and observability across Salesforce, S-Docs, AWS, and VA Notify.
- Assess S-Docs template generation, data dependencies, automation triggers, and governance controls.
- Analyze Salesforce integration patterns for high-volume outbound communication, considering API limits, throughput, latency, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
- Design and implement AWS integration components using Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, DLQ, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Develop processing, transformation, routing, error handling, and orchestration supporting secure delivery through VA Notify.
- Build and refine Salesforce integration components, including callouts, automation workflows, dashboards, and reporting.
- Evaluate VA Notify APIs for delivery status, bounce, and failure reporting.
- Execute unit, integration, load, and performance testing under high-volume conditions.
- Deploy changes via CI/CD pipelines across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational controls for production readiness.
- Develop architecture and technical documentation, including data flows, diagrams, runbooks, and support procedures.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to communicate findings and support production handoff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with data engineering, systems integration, ETL, or cloud engineering.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/DLQ, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of Salesforce integration patterns, including callouts, Apex, Flow automation, and document-generation tools (S-Docs, Conga, Nintex Drawloop).
- Proficiency with SQL and scripting/programming languages such as Python or Apex.
- Experience designing/supporting API-based and asynchronous processing integrations.
- Skilled in testing lifecycle, including high-volume load and performance testing.
- Experience deploying solutions via CI/CD pipelines in various environments.
- Ability to support VA Notify or similar notification APIs.
- Familiarity with federal security standards (FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53).
- Excellent technical and architectural documentation skills and ability to communicate with technical and business audiences.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Compensation
Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00
