Job Description

Production Electrical Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Tucson, AZ.

***MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE INTERIM OR SECRET CLEARANCE***

Our customer has an opening for a Production Electrical Engineer to support an Electrical Engineering team responsible for resolving production issues and keeping critical hardware builds.

This position requires an engineer who can quickly assess technical problems, identify additional information needed, understand available resources, prioritize issues based on urgency, and develop an effective path toward troubleshooting, corrective action, and final resolution. The engineer will communicate technical plans across cross-functional teams and take ownership of issues through completion.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on electrical hardware troubleshooting experience, including digital, analog, RF, and/or mixed-signal systems, along with experience using electronic laboratory test equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Resolve production and supplier-related technical issues, including troubleshooting failures and coordinating corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot complex circuit card assemblies, electronic hardware, and/or electro-mechanical systems
  • Diagnose hardware failures using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment
  • Quickly assess technical problems and determine likely causes and appropriate troubleshooting paths
  • Identify additional information, resources, and technical support required to resolve issues
  • Develop troubleshooting, corrective action, and final resolution plans
  • Own and manage technical issues from initial identification through final resolution
  • Communicate technical plans, priorities, and status updates to cross-functional teams
  • Maintain and update technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • Prepare engineering change documentation and change packages for presentation to review boards
  • Evaluate defect, failure, and yield data to identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with suppliers and support the development of Statements of Work
  • Coordinate engineering resources and team members to drive issues to closure
  • Support general electrical engineering activities within a production environment

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent technical education
  • 5-10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Active Interim or Secret security clearance
  • Experience testing and/or debugging complex circuit card assemblies and/or electro-mechanical systems involving digital, analog, RF, and/or mixed-signal technologies
  • Hands-on experience using laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, and power supplies
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and Bills of Materials (BoMs)
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, operations, supplier, and other cross-functional teams
  • Ability to independently take ownership of technical issues and drive them through resolution


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting production engineering activities involving electrical or mechanical hardware
  • Background designing electronic and/or electro-optical subsystems, including circuit design, assembly processes, and fabrication practices
  • Familiarity with engineering and analysis tools across electrical design, simulation, testing, and measurement domains
  • Experience with subsystem integration, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience analyzing defect and yield data to identify trends and reduce recurring failures
  • Experience supporting suppliers and developing technical Statements of Work
  • Experience preparing and presenting engineering change packages
  • Ability to work independently or within small technical teams while providing technical guidance, coordination, and project oversight

Employment Prerequisites
The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation and drug urinalysis.

The position requires an active Interim or Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain the required clearance throughout the assignment.

Estimated Min Rate: $75.00/hour
Estimated Max Rate: $79.00/hour
