POSITION SUMMARY
ITellect is seeking an experienced Network Project Engineer (Senior) to provide transport engineering support for all Department of War (DoW) and non-DoW interconnected communication infrastructures located world-wide. This role delivers client value for the Communications Engineering Division, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), which is responsible for maintaining and posturing the DOD Information Network (DODIN) transport infrastructure and capabilities. Effective leadership and communication skills are essential for working among a blended prime/subcontractor program team and developing and maintaining strong client relationships. This position requires an active Secret clearance and is a full-time onsite position.
SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
The network systems engineering lead candidate shall serve as lead project engineer in the planning and implementation of solutions across multiples technologies and platforms in the DISN and provide end-to-end integrated solutions with a proposed implementation strategy. The candidate will leverage subject matter experts from across the contract tasks to provide comprehensive solutions.
In support of DISN projects, the candidate shall provide design packages that include topology drawings, equipment lists, and network plans. The candidate shall provide recommendations on specific procedures for operating and managing DISN transport; including methodologies associated with cost recovery, administration, and billing. The candidate shall support the Government leads/engineers through the development and updating of planning documents and models.
The candidate shall have demonstrated experience/expertise in:
• Understand multiple network types (DWDM, OTN, TDM, and IP).
• Strong routing protocols and IP network design experience to include: IPSEC, BGP, MPLS/RSVP, OSPF, IS-IS, Multicast, Layer-2/Layer-3 Virtual Private Network (VPN), Carrier servicing Carrier (CsC).
• Hardware/software interface equipment integration/setup (chassis, card, module, and XFP/SFP) and power requirements of each of the following devices to integrate for transport: Ciena 6500, Cisco 15454, CISCO/Juniper routers.
• Understanding of Requirements analysis, network traffic analysis, engineering analysis and planning, network equipment layout design, network management design.
• Authoring and updating documentation supporting planning to include Engineering Guide Documents (EGDs), Bill of Materials (MBOM), project drawings and Network management plans.
• Performed circuit analysis and document finding for the existing network transport and legacy infrastructure.
• Validate network architecture and develop an architecture strategy for customer traffic flow.
• Maintain circuit lists, config templates and develop implementation plans.
• Provide technical expertise in design review, lab testing & test report, implementation plan and deployment of new advanced large-scale complex DoW networks.
• Creation of Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
• Active Secret security clearance
• 10+ years of network systems engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Experience with process improvement, strategic planning, change management, and organizational redesign
• Working knowledge Microsoft Office Tools; specifically, PowerPoint, Visio, Word & Excel
• Effective leadership skills and excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, research and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience supporting DISA, DOW, or other government programs
• IAT Level II or higher certification
