Program Summary

Job Summary

Join KBR's elite team of maintenance professionals at Morón Air Base in Spain as a War Reserve Equipment - Aerospace Ground Support Equipment (WRM - AGE) Mechanic. In this role, you will be integral to the success of our War Reserve Materiel (WRM) and flight line operations, directly contributing to the mission readiness of the U.S. Air Force (USAF). You will gain hands-on experience performing crucial inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a diverse range of ground support equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to include Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE) trailers, aluminum rail sets, and conveyors. Assist senior technicians with the inspection, testing, and operation of AGE/GSE to determine equipment serviceability.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on various types of support equipment, under the guidance of senior personnel.
  • Use and maintain records in maintenance database systems such as the Equipment and Local Management System (ELMS) or Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with technical orders, manufacturer specifications, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company and government regulations.
  • Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis, and stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods in an active flightline/industrial environment.


Basic Qualifications
  • US Citizen
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Aerospace Ground Equipment AGE or GSE Mechanic in a military or civilian aviation environment.
  • Must meet the standards of a USAF AFSC 2A6X2 (Aerospace Ground Equipment/AGE) or AFSC 2W0X1 (Munitions Systems/AMMO) Journeyman or Craftsman (5- or 7-Level). In lieu of a USAF background, equivalent experience in other US military branch GSE/ordnance roles, or civilian aviation ground support equipment maintenance at commercial airports, is fully acceptable.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing ELMS/IMDS or an equivalent automated military or civil aviation maintenance database to track, record, and document maintenance actions.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (Section 608) or equivalent environmental certification for refrigerant handling.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Security Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful completion of the formal USAF AGE Training Course or Munitions Systems Apprentice Course.
  • Prior experience supporting a WRM program or working on military aircraft base operations support contracts.
  • Technical certifications in heavy diesel engine repair, advanced AC/DC electrical circuitry, or Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Heavy equipment towing experience and/or a valid forklift operator certification (up to 10k capacity).
