DeMase is recruiting an experienced Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer / Specialist to support nuclear and other highly-regulated engineering projects. The successful candidate will perform and lead software quality assurance activities associated with engineering, scientific, analytical, and safety-related software.

This position may be filled at multiple levels depending on education, experience, technical depth, and demonstrated ability to independently execute and lead SQA activities. The role may support multiple projects and customers and may include both hands-on SQA execution and technical leadership responsibilities.

Depending on experience and assigned level, responsibilities may include:

• Develops, reviews, implements, and maintains Software Quality Assurance Plans, procedures, and related program documentation;
• Applies applicable SQA requirements to engineering, scientific, analytical, and business software;
• Performs software classification, applicability, and quality-level determinations;
• Evaluates software lifecycle activities, including acquisition, development, configuration, verification, validation, testing, release, maintenance, and retirement;
• Reviews software requirements, design documentation, test plans, test results, configuration records, and verification and validation documentation;
• Develops or evaluates software dedication, qualification, and acceptance strategies for acquired or commercial software;
• Performs supplier evaluations, surveillances, audits, and assessments related to software quality;
• Evaluates software changes, problem reports, corrective actions, and configuration management activities;
• Supports qualification and control of calculation software, engineering analysis tools, models, spreadsheets, databases, scripts, and internally developed applications;
• Establishes traceability between software requirements, implementation, testing, and acceptance criteria;
• Identifies and documents SQA deficiencies, nonconformances, and conditions adverse to quality;
• Develops and supports corrective actions and continuous-improvement initiatives;
• Interfaces with engineering, Quality Assurance, project management, licensing, information technology, and customer organizations;
• Interprets customer, regulatory, consensus-standard, and internal quality requirements and translate them into practical project controls;
• Prepares technical reports, procedures, plans, assessments, and other quality records.
• Supports customer and regulatory audits, reviews, and inspections;
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and less-experienced SQA personnel; and
• At higher levels, serves as the SQA technical lead for projects or programs and independently resolve complex software quality issues.

You may have occasional travel to support customers or DeMase business development.
