Duties

• Provides assistance to visitors and complainants in accordance with established police/security procedures.
• Prepares police/security reports and blotter entries in accordance with established standards.
• Communicates instructions to personnel in accordance with established procedures.
• Operates police/security desk systems in accordance with established procedures.

• This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.
• You may be expected to travel for this position.
• Incumbent must graduate from the U.S. Army Civilian Police Academy within 2 calendar years of hire, unless holding a current approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered status authorized by the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
• Incumbent must successfully complete required law enforcement training, certifications, and qualifications, including weapons qualification, First Aid/CPR, and NIMS training, as prescribed by policy, regulation, or statute.
• Must meet AR 190-56 requirements, including medical evaluations, pass the Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter, and comply with and maintain Individual Reliability Program (IRP) requirements.
• The Lautenberg Amendment applies to this position. Individuals convicted of a misdemeanor or felony domestic violence offense are ineligible. Incumbent is subject to removal if convicted of a felony under Section 639 of P.L. 106-554.
• Incumbent is designated Mission Essential under DoDI 3024.42 and DTM 17-004 during inclement weather or emergencies and must continue performing duties until relieved by proper authority.
• Incumbent must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license
• Hours of work are subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
• This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
• In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and Army guidance, employee must obtain foundational qualifications within 9 months, resident qualifications within 12 months, and complete 20 hours of CPD per work role code, except Data, AI, and Software Engineering.
• In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
• This position is subject to a one-year supervisory probationary period if not previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying law enforcement and security procedures to respond to incidents and inquiries; reviewing official reports for accuracy and completeness; operating communications and security systems; maintaining accurate event records; and providing guidance to personnel on established procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
