Location: Cincinnati, OH
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Additional Hours: Overtime and occasional weekends may be required
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour DOE

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking an experienced Lab Technician for one of our industry-leading laboratory clients in Cincinnati, OH. This is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory professional with hands-on experience in an industrial or chemical laboratory environment to join a team performing routine physical and chemical testing.
The ideal candidate will have experience with physical and chemical laboratory testing, ASTM methods, laboratory instrumentation, sample preparation, equipment calibration, and accurate documentation. Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to microbiology, polymer testing, metals testing, or general academic laboratory work may not be the best fit for this position.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine physical and chemical testing of laboratory samples using established methods and procedures.
- Conduct testing such as Specific Gravity/Density, Karl Fischer Water, Color, Acid Value/Acidity, and Viscosity.
- Follow ASTM testing procedures and established laboratory methods.
- Prepare and stage samples for analysis, including proper sample handling, preparation, and disposal.
- Prepare reagents, standards, and quality control samples as required.
- Operate, maintain, and perform routine calibration of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Record, review, and report analytical results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records, worksheets, instrument logs, and calibration documentation.
- Enter test results and other required information into laboratory systems.
- Follow established quality standards, laboratory procedures, and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and communicate inventory needs to management.
- Assist with moving samples, containers, and other laboratory materials as needed.
- Work independently after training while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional college-level science or chemistry coursework preferred.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in an industrial, chemical, manufacturing, petroleum, or similar laboratory environment.
- Direct experience performing physical and chemical testing.
- Experience with one or more of the following testing methods:
- Specific Gravity/Density
- Karl Fischer Water
- Color
- Acid Value/Acidity
- Viscosity
- Familiarity with ASTM testing procedures and standards.
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation, equipment calibration, and routine maintenance.
- Experience with sample preparation, handling, and disposal procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and report test results.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and established quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and become proficient with laboratory methods with minimal method-specific training.
- Ability to lift and move laboratory materials as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends based on business needs.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related science field.
- Experience in a chemical, petroleum, industrial, manufacturing, or quality-control laboratory.
- Experience working with ASTM methods and quality standards.
- Experience with multiple physical and chemical analytical testing methods.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, production-support laboratory environment.
